COMMUNITY RELATIONS COORDINATOR

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

General Functions
   Establishing effective relationships with various civic, fraternal, and professional groups in the local area for the purpose of increasing resources for county programs and/or enhancing public knowledge of programs and services. Work is performed under the supervision an assigned supervisor is reviewed through observations, conferences, and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Recruits, selects, and trains volunteers for programs; plans program and assigns workers.
  • Conducts public relations activities for the youth services program, gives informative talks and prepares news articles.
  • Confers with professional staff to identify needed support.
  • Implements programs to obtain, monitor, and respond to community, individual, and corporate donations.
  • Performs related work as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Public Relations or a closely related field and two years of experience in public relations, volunteer services, or public administration; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training or experience.

Youth & Family Service

Must be able to demonstrate advanced proficiency in word processing functions, preferably Microsoft Word and email functions.

Selected applicant may be subject to a background screening and fingerprinting for which he/she must bear the cost and must obtain favorable screening results in order to obtain employment.
