This position is responsible for identifying and monitoring potential sources of loss within the Corrections Health Services Division. The Clinical Risk Management Coordinator works closely with all levels of management in developing programs and implementing processes that minimize liability, improves standards of care, promotes quality assurance and operating processes. The Coordinator will be an integral part of the management team promoting a safe, team-oriented approach to the care of inmates at the Orange County Jail. |

| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
- Maintain the Risk Management program that encompasses identifying instances in which problems arise that jeopardize the safety and care of the inmate population.
- Assist in the development of procedures to guide the activities of practice in the areas of risk and quality.
- Adhere to guidelines including NCCHC, ACA, CDC, FMJS, HIPAA to ensure organization compliance.
- Provide reports to management as required.
- Recommend and implement programs that include data analysis of occurrences and liability issues that affect the current standards of care and service delivery.
- Maintain standard of documentation and record keeping on all risk factors based on assessment.
- Responsible for claims administration to include:
a. Claims reports to Orange County Risk Management.
b. Coordination of communication and response to complaints from inmates, attorneys and others.
c. Immediate intervention, investigation and documentation of complaints.
- Participates in the development of policies and procedures on release of information, HIPAA compliance, confidentiality and information security.
- Provides backup coverage to Case Manager and Program Manager.
- Intergral part of the Health Care Team, providing resources, assistance to achieve CHS goals.
- Supervisory functions may be requested as part of this position.
- Performs other related duties as required.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or closely related field and five years of nursing experience or Registered Nurse with a minimum of five years experience in nursing, which would include 4 years experience in Risk Management, Case Management and/or Quality Assurance; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration or closely related field; licensure by the State of Florida as a Risk Manager and five years experience in a health care setting with at least one year in Risk Management.
Nursing applicants must possess a current Florida license as a registered nurse and BCLS CPR certification.
Must be computer literate (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), able to compile, aggregate data, interpret and report data.
Must be able to communicate with all levels within the organization.
Requires the ability to read and comprehend a variety of documents and reports such as audits, records, statistical reports, personnel reports, etc., using the proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar.

RN with Healthcare Certified Risk Manager by Agency for Healthcare Administration.
RN with Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field.
Previous nursing supervisory experience.
Prior Correctional Experience.
