ENTERPRISE SITE ADMINISTRATOR

General Functions
   Performs maintenance, upgrades and supports various webserver hardware, operating systems and software associated with websites and web development. Designs and develops software code and databases. Work is performed under the supervision of an IT Project Leader and is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Maintains and upgrades hardware and software for enterprise websites, including Internet, Intranet and Extranet webservers, application servers and database servers.
  • Monitors website performance, troubleshoots errors and other related problems, creates, and implements backup and recovery procedures.
  • Develops reports through web statistical software and other system and network usage software in order to forecast and plan for appropriate resources to serve the employees and citizens of Orange County.
  • Provides information, as appropriate, for the budgeting and project planning process.
  • Designs and develops software code, such as HTML, CGI, JavaScript and ASP, for delivery to County websites.
  • Assists other web developers in the development of appropriate programming code for web project deliveries in conjunction with software code development, designs appropriate databases for individual projects or for other INet team member projects.
  • Researches new products and new technologies to assure Orange County is using the most cost-effective and efficient web technologies available, at a reasonable cost.
  • Serves as a mentor and trainer to INet team.
  • Performs related work as required.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a closely related field and four years of experience in development, management and integration of hardware, software, operating systems, networks, databases and web programming; or an equivalent combination of directly related web development and support work experience or training.

Equipment or computer software skills required for this position
Thorough knowledge of Windows NT, IIS4, TCP/IP and network architecture. Familiarity with ASP, C++, VB object-oriented languages. Experience in network/internet security. Extensive involvement with the testing of all Microsoft products. Configuration of services and development tools residing on servers.
