PRODUCTION SCHEDULER

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

General Functions
   Assume primary responsibility for coordinating all tasks required for daily computer tasks. The Production Scheduler also implements, administers, maintains, and operates all Production Control Software used for media management, automated job scheduling, source code storage, and output management. The position also functions as a member of the control group responsible for the custodianship of source code in production environment.
 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  
  • Manipulate, utilize, control and maintain Production Control Software on IBM, Digital Unisys, UNIX, and NT.
  • Develop and maintain automated and manual job schedules for the enterprise to provide production processing.
  • Provide object movement to the production environments.
  • Provide support for production job JCL abends and production scheduling support.
  • Identify, diagnose, report, and provide resolutions or suggest resolutions to resolve technical problems with Production Control software.
  • Coordinate “after-hours” application availability requests during periods of hardware and software scheduled outages.
  • Provide implementation input and operational testing for Production Control software installations and software modifications.
  • Provide remedial and technical assistance to Computer Operations.
 
Minimum Qualifications
   Completion of two years of college-level training in Data processing or related field and four years of current computer operations experience, of which two years must have been in a Master Console Computer Operator position, or four years of mainframe task scheduling or related Production Control experience. Additional years of specified experience may be substituted for the required training on a year-to-year basis. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Software – JCL, IBM Utilities, JES2, MVS TWO/ISPF/SDSF, DCL.
 
Preferences
   Experience utilizing current Orange County Production Control Software products. These products include CA-Dispatch, CA-Scheduler, CA-Tlms, CA-Jclcheck, CA-Librarian, Tapesys, Autosys, SmartCon, and CC-Harvest. Operation of laser printing devices.
