| General Functions |

Performs supervisory and professional duties in providing the technical and managerial direction for the quality assurance unit as well as coordinating work with other Data Center units and County departments.
This is diversified technical and managerial work with supervisory and administrative responsibilities for the Quality Assurance Unit.
Responsibilities include planning, assigning and reviewing the work of subordinates engaged in documenting Data Center policies and County policies as they relate to the Data Center; developing standards and procedures that translate those policies into effective and efficient management and control systems; implementing management and control systems; periodically reviewing and revising Data Center management and control systems to improve their effectiveness and efficiency; coordinating long-range planning and disaster recovery functions. for the Data Systems Division.
General direction is received from the Manager, Data Systems, who reviews and evaluates work based on the overall results of the unit in meeting assigned objectives.

| Representative Duties /Assignments |

- Plans, directs and supervises the work assigned unit staff.
- Prepares work plans and work schedules and monitors progress of projects.
- Assists in the formulation of project objectives.
- Develops and implements a training plan for assigned staff.
- Develops and maintains professional contracts with other county departments, other data processing units, and professional organizations.
- Chairs committee for development and review of Data Center standards and procedures.
- Participates in the development, implementation and review of the Data Center planning process.
- Oversees evaluation of new hardware and software technology to determine its proper roll in the County’s environment, calling upon technical support and telecommunications personnel as required.
- Creates and maintains the disaster recovery plan for the Data Systems Division.
- Creates and maintains a long-range plan for data processing.
- Performs other related duties as required.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or Public Administration, Engineering or a related field and five years of full time programming or technical support experience including at least three years of data processing supervisory experience. Additional years of specified experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for year basis.
