ANIMAL SERVICES SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR

General Functions
  

Supervises the Customer Service Section of the Animal Services Division. Work is performed under the general supervisor of the assistant department manager.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Performs customer support and problem resolution in customer service, animal sheltering, spay/neuter services and general operations of the shelter.
  • Verifies deposits involving cash and receipts.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities to include scheduling, disciplining, training, counseling, conflict resolution and evaluating all assigned staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

Associate degree from an accredited institution in business administration or a related field.

Three (3) years experience in a fast paced, problem solving customer service environment to include at least one (1) year in a supervisory role.

In lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Must have the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with all levels of staff and citizens on technical and non-technical issues involving the animal control industry.

Must have state certification as an Animal Control Officer or must obtain within six (6) months of hire.
